We are a vibrant, active and growing community of faith. We would love for you to join us in worship and to take part in our many ministries and outreach activities. We both rejoice in the 143 year legacy of our parish and look forward with great hope as we journey together in the Lord.
We are the oldest Catholic parish in Winchester, established in 1875, and located near the town center. In recent years, Immaculate Conception Parish in Winchester and St. Joseph Parish in Woburn have joined the St. Mary Parish Family. We are very blessed to join in worship as one family. Under the Archdiocesan Disciples in Mission plan, St Mary Parish and St Eulalia Parish will come together as a collaborative in the coming years. We will share a pastor, a pastoral team and a pastoral council. We will work and minister together, but each parish will remain open and maintain its own identity – its own name, buildings and finances.
We have many ministries including a very active religious education program (CCD) and youth programs and a superb parish school serving children in grades Pre-K to five. Currently we have over 1100 students in CCD, 160 volunteers devoted to their Catholic education and 150 students in St. Mary's School.
Our mission statement captures our live together: St. Mary Catholic Community strives to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ, “love one another.” Jesus is the heart of our community, and Sunday liturgy is the center of our worship. With Mary as our patroness and model, we open our hearts and community to all. As we journey in faith, we grow through our sacramental life, Christian education and opportunities for spiritual enrichment.
Our vision is expressed in a commitment to peace and justice, respect for all life, appreciation for the unique gifts of every person and outreach to those in need. Our parish family affirms all members in their search for truth as they meet the challenge of being Catholics in this modern world.
We welcome you warmly and completely to our parish. Whether you visit with us for a moment or join our parish family, it will be our honor to serve Christ with you and for you. Please call on us if we can assist you at anytime and in anyway.
Many thanks and many blessings,
Fr. Rich Erikson
