Music Ministry

St. Mary's choir boasts 18 dedicated men and woman who serve as the leaders of song at the 10:00 Sunday Liturgy. The choir sings a variety of SATB music from Mozart to Rutter, and also incorporates contemporary music. Our choir ranges in age from teens to those in their seventies and all bring their love of music and varying abilities of musicianship. Above all, St. Mary's choir is a group that cares about one another and shares in each others joys and helps one another through times of sadness.

The choir rehearses before the 10:00 Sunday Mass beginning at 9:00 a.m. They also rehearse seasonally on several Sunday evenings before Christmas and Easter. It is a small commitment but is such an important part of the worship experience of the parishioners who walk through St. Mary's door.

The Festival Children's Choir sings for major church feasts. Children in grades 3 - 6 rehearse one month before Christmas and Easter in order to sing at the 4:00 Mass on Christmas Eve and the 10:00 a.m. Mass on Easter Sunday. The choir has numbered as many as 52 for these special events and the response from the assembly has been very positive and exciting. The children learn a little about music, a bit about Liturgy, and most of all, learn that a group of children can make a huge difference in the life of a parish. If you have an interested child, you should watch for bulletin announcements. You may also contact Jane O'Keefe at the parish office for more information.
