Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
One parish ministry for which every member of our parish family has a talent is prayer. Each Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:20 p.m. we have Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the Lower Church. Presently some 40 parishioners spend time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament each Friday.
Centering prayer is a meditative type of prayer. This group meets every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Parish Center. The members participate in a discussion, sometimes watch a video, and then spend time in meditative or .centering. prayer based on what has just been discussed.
Christian Formation Committee
This committee will review the parish’s overall effort to educate both children and adults and recommend ways to improve our educational endeavors. They will suggest educational themes and point out areas where improvement is needed.
Fatima Prayer Group
The Fatima Prayer Group focuses on devotions to the Blessed Mother, particularly in respect to the promises of Fatima. The weekly meetings include time for reading, devotions, and saying the Rosary. It is open to everyone and meets every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the lower church.
Ministry Of Prayer
Our Ministry of Prayer is open to our homebound members who want to serve our parish family within the confines of their own house. Throughout the month parishioners write their intentions in the intention book that is kept near the statue of Mary in the chapel. At the end of the month, all of the prayer intentions are typed and then two or three intentions are mailed to the home of the homebound who are then asked to pray for the intentions of our parish. This helps to keep us all, even those who cannot worship with us on a regular basis due to age or illness, connected together through prayer.
Rosary Prayer Group
In preparation to celebrate the Eucharist, parishioners meditate on the life of Christ as they pray the Rosary before 6:45 am and 9:00 am weekday Masses, as well as the 8:30 am Saturday Mass.
